Industry Statistics:
  • Nearly 70 percent of diagnosed cases of cardiovascular disease are related to obesity;
  • Overweight adults: Men (20+ years old): 64.5 million (61.9 percent);
  • After remaining stagnant for 20 years, fitness club memberships have grown 7% per year over the past 15 years and are forecast to grow 14% per year;
  • The largest growth in fitness club memberships has come from individuals 35 years of age and older.
